What is worth choosing?
Choosing Sully's Great Lakes is about more than just buying candy; it's about the experience. For Michigan locals, this store stands out for its unique blend of familiar comfort and exciting discovery. The product selection is a key reason to visit, offering a curated mix that goes beyond what you would find at a typical grocery or convenience store. From the reviews, it's clear that the selection is a major draw. Customers have highlighted items like "Southern Peach Calypso Lemonade" and "sour Skittles," noting that the variety is hard to resist. The store's commitment to providing a calm and cozy environment is another strong point. A user noted that the "vibe inside was calm and cozy," and the "layout is super easy to navigate." This is a significant factor, especially for those looking to avoid the stress of a crowded or chaotic shopping trip. The staff’s helpfulness and kindness have also been mentioned as a positive, enhancing the overall experience. The ability to find something for everyone, whether it’s a quick treat for yourself, a fun drink, or a small gift like novelty socks, makes Sully’s a versatile and reliable choice.
It's important to acknowledge and consider all aspects of a business, including customer feedback. One review highlighted concerns about staff behavior and interactions with young and minority customers, describing two separate incidents involving an older white woman and an older white man who allegedly displayed hostile and suspicious behavior. This review expressed feelings of being stereotyped and judged, which led to a negative experience, particularly for a member of the group who was celebrating their birthday. The reviewer noted a lack of response from the business to similar feedback. While this is a serious concern, it's worth noting that it contrasts with other positive reviews about the staff. Ultimately, a customer’s experience can be subjective and vary greatly, but taking into account all feedback is essential for making an informed decision.
In conclusion, Sully's Great Lakes presents itself as a compelling choice for candy and unique snacks in the Auburn Hills area. Its accessible location, diverse product range, and overall positive atmosphere make it an appealing destination for many. The shop's focus on a quick and enjoyable visit, combined with its unique offerings, positions it as more than just a candy store—it's a local favorite for a special treat. While individual experiences may vary, and customer feedback should always be considered, the core appeal of Sully's lies in its ability to bring a little bit of fun and sweetness to the community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I popped into Sully’s Sweet Shop recently to grab one of my faves—Southern Peach Calypso Lemonade—and a pack of sour Skittles. It’s a combo I can’t resist, and let me tell you, I should’ve doubled up. One bottle and one bag just wasn’t enough. Lol.The vibe inside was calm and cozy, which is always a plus when you’re just trying to get in and out without stress. The layout is super easy to navigate, and the staff was genuinely helpful and kind. I didn’t feel rushed, and I appreciated that. They’ve got a fun selection beyond just candy. I’ve seen snacks, drinks, and even fun socks with cool prints. It’s the kind of shop that makes you feel like a kid again for a few minutes, in the best way.Highly recommend Sully’s if you’re in the area—great for quick treats and small surprises.
April 03 · Zelanda • Food and Flavor Curator (Zelanda's Kitchen)Whenever I go here with my friends we experience some type of problem. First it was a racist white old lady who stared down my friends. Now it's an older white man who confronted us at the entrance and followed us around the store. I let him know we were browsing. He proceeded to tell the only black person of our group, "Your looking at things and putting them down, it's a little suspicious. Let's not have a problem". Please change the attitude problem your workers have Sally's Sweetshop. Just because we're young doesn't mean we are going to steal. With most of this mall being made up of young adults and teens, this will continue to cause problems for you. Also the guy you talked so rudely to, yeah him, it was his birthday 🎂 so thanks for leaving a bad experience for our now 20 year old friend. I was gonna buy him a 50 dollar Japan Mystery box for his birthday too. -$50 for you!I also noticed you haven't responded to any of the reviews addressing your staffs behavior. Very Sad Sally's Sweetshop :(My best advice to other customers is until they change that, to just avoid the store entirely especially if you are POC or young.
August 21 · Chelsea Nuckols2 days ago I purchased a candy toy! When we took the paper off it literally broke in the parking lot. Since I work at the mall I waited to my next shift to get it replaced. However, I was denied. They told me I had to pay 50% of the price when I in fact brought it broken unknowingly and wasn’t even able to eat one pice of candy! Bad business! You sell a broken product then don’t make right! Associate a lady gets an attitude and say she’ll pay! Damn right you’ll pay! It’s not about the money it’s the principle if you have a business!
August 10 · Yoshi FargoONE STAR. I am absolutely a candy lover, but the vibes I got from an older lady following around made me extremely uncomfortable. The ball candy was absolutely RANCID. Cleaned 2 weeks ago? More like 2 YEARS ago!! I spent my hard earned money on candy, but the experience was so strange. Why was a lady following me??? I am a loyal customer to Sully’s Sweet Shop and always came to the other locations with my friends but the quality here was terrible and management was so rude! Talk about unprofessionalism 🙄. The fudge tasted crunchy! On what earth is regular fudge supposed to be crunch filled?!?!? Not on this Earth as far as I know! Never again. Don’t go here!
February 27 · • Marigold •My experience here was completely awful. To start off, some middle aged man was staring me down and made me very uncomfortable. The bulk candy was ROCK HARD, and looked like it had not been cleaned in ages. I felt like I was going to break a tooth while chewing on it. I bought some chocolate for my young daughter from the discount section, and to my horror; I saw that it was 8 months past the expiration date. My daughter had digestion issues, and do NOT want to know what would happen if I didn’t catch this. It tasted gross and had some unknown substance on the package. this is unbelievable! I will be making sure me and my friends NEVER stop by this store again.
