MarieBelle Introduce
Nestled in the artistic and fashionable SoHo neighborhood of New York City, MarieBelle stands as a true destination for those who appreciate the finer things in life. This is not merely a chocolate shop; it is a meticulously crafted experience, a beautiful and breathtaking space that transports you to an era of elegance and indulgence. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are met with an interior so beautifully designed, with stunning details, that it is a surprise in itself. As a women-owned business that is also LGBTQ+ friendly, MarieBelle provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all, where the focus is on a shared appreciation for luxury and high-quality confections. The business has a rich history, with its founder Maribel Lieberman drawing from her roots in the cacao fields of Honduras to craft fine art edibles that are both sophisticated and deeply flavorful.
MarieBelle is celebrated for its dedication to the art of chocolate-making. Every piece is a testament to this passion, crafted with care and a keen eye for design. The chocolates themselves are described as "so yummy and perfectly crafted," a testament to the high standards upheld by the business. While the chocolates are a main attraction, a key feature that has earned a cult following is their famous hot chocolate. Customers rave about it, with one review calling it "the best hot chocolate that I’ve ever tried." This rich, decadent drink is often offered as a sample, a "lure" that is always worth following. The Cacao Bar in the back of the store provides a cozy, European-style setting where you can savor these drinks, along with other desserts and beverages. The attention to detail in the design, from the gilded accents to the ornate chandeliers, creates a unique atmosphere that feels like a hidden oasis from the city's hustle and bustle.
The experience at MarieBelle is enhanced by more than just the aesthetics and the products. It's a place where service and atmosphere are highly valued, with customers noting the cozy ambiance and the friendliness of the staff. The Cacao Bar also offers a luxurious Afternoon High Tea experience, complete with finger sandwiches, pastries, and, of course, their exceptional hot chocolate. This makes MarieBelle a versatile destination, perfect for a quick visit to pick up a treat, a relaxed afternoon with friends, or a special occasion. Its ability to serve as a cozy escape while also providing top-tier products is what makes it a cherished spot in New York City's dessert scene.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was a total surprise for me walking in because I didn’t see the glass display outside but the interior is so incredibly beautiful and breathtaking. All the chocolate looked so yummy and perfectly crafted! I had the Jefferson’s Favorite hot chocolate and it’s honestly the best hot chocolate that I’ve ever tried. They lured me with the sample hot chocolate but it was so worth getting it. I also had the dulce de leche tart which was also very good.

August 23 · Murilo B.Definitely check this place out!!! Hot spicy chocolate was great! We did the wine and chocolate pairing and it was a fun experience to share with family for a birthday!Service was amazing, Johnny was very attentive and knowledgeable on all the items we tried.
March 30 · Emma C. CáceresGreat place for some tea with options if not everyone wants tea service. The liquid chocolate was amazing as were the chocolates and pastries. Would go again
April 18 · Jessica TorresWhat is a trip to NYC and the East Village and not going to MarieBelle, well, you just don't do it. Quick trip with/ my wife, and mid-afternoon we stopped in for a nibble at the cafe. Greeted by Johnny (yes, the infamous Johnny the Troublemaker). Having been there many times, we knew what we wanted, an Iced Chocolate with a passion fruit tart. My wife and I both like the Aztec, but Johnny put a special twist on my Iced Chocolate (at Johnny's suggestion), and I can say it was the best ever. Thank you for making our visit to Mariebelle so memorable. I'll be back in July and can't wait for another visit / twist on my Iced Chocolate! FYI, the pastries are truly some of the best in the city!
