I always put a zinger on the itinerary and Mr. Ed’s was my pick for this trip! It’s a fun stop, everyone enjoyed all the unique elephants in the museum and who doesn’t love homemade fudge and candy!!! Especially the older candy that you don’t see very often anymore, it reminded several members of my group of their childhood. The picnic area was a nice spot to enjoy some of the treats we bought, with the pond nearby that had elephant statues with water flowing from their trunks. There’s a couple of cut outs for souvenir pics by Miss Ellie, the giant elephant statue by the Mr Ed’s sign. Make a stop here and I guarantee you will leave with a smile and you won’t be empty handed! - Mountaineer Photo Excursions

For those in Pennsylvania looking for a truly unique and memorable day out, Mister Ed's Elephant Museum & Candy Emporium is a destination unlike any other. Located in the picturesque town of Orrtanna, this spot is a delightful fusion of a traditional candy store, a quirky museum, and a whimsical gift shop. It's the kind of place that captures the imagination of both children and adults, offering a nostalgic journey back in time while providing a sweet escape from the everyday. This article will guide you through the wonders of Mister Ed's, highlighting what makes it such a cherished local gem and a must-see tourist attraction in the heart of Pennsylvania.

Mister Ed's is a true roadside attraction, a place that embodies the spirit of discovery and fun. Its dual nature—part museum, part candy store—is what makes it so special. The museum side is dedicated to all things elephant, featuring an impressive collection of thousands of elephant figurines, statues, and memorabilia gathered over many years. This unique display is both fascinating and a little bit quirky, making for an enjoyable stroll through a sea of pachyderm-themed artifacts. One reviewer perfectly captured this, describing it as a place for "a collector of anything elephant or just a fan of quirky roadside attractions." The sheer volume and variety of the collection are astounding and make for a truly memorable visit.

Then there is the Candy Emporium. This is where the magic truly happens for those with a sweet tooth. The shop boasts an incredible selection of candies, from homemade fudge that melts in your mouth to a vast array of nostalgic and retro candies that you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. As one customer noted, the selection of "older candy that you don’t see very often anymore" brought back fond childhood memories for several members of their group. It’s a place where you can rediscover old favorites and introduce new generations to classic treats. The combination of the museum's visual feast and the candy store's delicious offerings creates a multi-sensory experience that is both entertaining and satisfying.

Beyond the main building, the property is filled with enchanting details. The outdoor area features a path lined with unique decorations and elephant statues, including some that have water flowing from their trunks into a nearby pond. A "teapot shaped building" holds a collection of teapots, adding another layer of eccentricity to the experience. There are also "cut outs for souvenir pics by Miss Ellie, the giant elephant statue," providing perfect photo opportunities to commemorate your visit. A picnic area offers a peaceful spot to enjoy the treats you've purchased, making it a great destination for families or groups.
