★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What a lovely place run by lovely people! It may not look like much from the outside...but you won't be disappointed that you stopped. Free samples. Delicious chocolate made on site. Handmade gift items. The owners even founded a shelter in Costa Rica. They are charitable and kind.
July 15 · Lexi Piper WinterThis is a quaint store only a few minutes from Holy Hill. Their chocolate products are superb and the owner Sarah is very nice. They also sell CBD infused chocolates if you're looking to try or gift them to someone. The quality of their chocolate is top-notch. They are handcrafted in Costa Rica. They also sell other craft products hand-made by various native American tribes. If you're ever in the area, stop by. The smell of the store alone is worth the pit stop—it's heavenly! Make sure you try the hot pepper chocolate and their chocolate covered nuts. They are delicious!
March 23 · KatrinaI had such a wonderful experience here that I will never forget. I was in the other day with my 2 children and I was kindly greeted the second I walked through the door. In general, amazing customer service. The lady is attentive and helpful. She asked me what I was looking for and I just said I was browsing. We sparked up a nice conversation and she educated me all about their chocolate and how it’s sourced. It was very fascinating. She let us sample many products and even some warm chocolate in the process of being made. Her son in law who makes the chocolate was extremely friendly as well. The shop is cute and clean and they have a window where you can watch the chocolate being made. It’s such a cool place. I got an orange chocolate bar and it was absolutely fantastic and was even better than my expectations. The prices are very reasonable as well. I will be back! Thanks for a great day!
March 22 · Melissa QuartanaNice selection of chocolate, but it's not what you expect at a chocolate store.Only sold prepackaged chocolate, only dark chocolate but have a variation of sweetness.I expected a store that hand made different kinds of chocolate like turtles, bonbons and such. No it's not that store.Bit pricey too.
May 29 · Randy TG1My bestie and I had the best girls night out enjoying chocolate fondue and lots of other chocolate samples and even brewed cocoa. The chocolate was amazing and I loved that it was good, organic ingredients that came from small farms in Costa Rica that they helped start. The history behind captain’s chocolate is reason enough alone to check this place out. The owner is such a kind and fun women and she made our night extra special! I stocked up on some chocolate and bought some items for gifts as well. This is about a 40 minute drive from me but I wouldn’t hesitate to drive out there to get more chocolate in the future! Don’t drive past this just because there’s a salvage yard connected to it. It’s very clean and cute inside! (Picture includes some additional dippers that we brought. She even lets you bring wine or anything you want to drink).
