Callie's Candy Kitchen Introduce
For anyone in Pennsylvania with a serious sweet tooth, or for those just passing through the picturesque Pocono Mountains, Callie's Candy Kitchen is a name that has become synonymous with delicious confections and nostalgic charm. Located in Mountainhome, this small business is much more than just a store; it's a destination that has been delighting customers for generations. The legacy of Callie's Candy Kitchen began in 1952 in Bangor, PA, when it was founded by newlyweds Harry and Carol Callie. The business later moved to its current Mountainhome location in 1972, where it has since grown into a beloved landmark. It's a place that captures the essence of a bygone era, with every room filled from wall to wall with an incredible variety of sweets. From homemade chocolates and truffles to a vast selection of classic candies and a unique in-store museum, Callie's offers an experience that is both a treat for the taste buds and a journey through time.
The sheer volume and variety of candy under one roof at Callie's is a major draw for visitors. As one customer review enthusiastically states, it’s like a "chocolate factory dream come true." You can find everything from old-fashioned sweets, caramel popcorn, and jelly beans to an extensive array of homemade chocolate in countless styles and flavors. The dedication to their craft is evident in their unique offerings, which include locally celebrated items like "potato chip bark" and chocolate-covered gummy bears, among many other imaginative creations. The business has remained family-owned and operated, a testament to the enduring dream of its founders, Harry and Carol Callie. This commitment to tradition and quality is what keeps customers coming back, with some having been loyal patrons for over 25 years, and even bringing their own children and grandchildren to experience the magic.
In addition to its wide selection, Callie's Candy Kitchen also offers a unique educational and nostalgic experience. In 2015, the store opened a free, in-store candy museum celebrating the lives of founders Harry and Carol Callie. The museum showcases vintage candy-making equipment, packaging, and provides a glimpse into the artistry and history of confectionery. It's an added bonus that makes a visit even more special, transforming a simple shopping trip into a delightful blend of education and nostalgia. This blend of delicious treats, a welcoming atmosphere, and a rich history makes Callie's Candy Kitchen an essential stop for locals and a must-see for anyone traveling through the Pocono Mountains. It’s a place that not only satisfies a craving for sweets but also creates lasting, happy memories for all who enter.

March 10 · DLove Callie's! The are the absolute best chocolate in the region. Have been coming here for over 25 years. Highly recommend the potato chip bark the chocolate covered gummy bears....oh who am I kidding literally everything is amazing!!
April 18 · Colleen OnacillaLegitimately some of the best chocolate I've had in my life. The shop is adorable and every employee I've encountered has been so sweet. This is the place I would bring friends and family visiting from out of town to show off local businesses.
August 23 · Bre MooneyMy family has been going to Callie’s for over 20 years and I will never get tired of visiting. This candy shop oozes with nostalgia and sweet treats, with chocolate tucked into every corner. I always love looking at the cartoon chocolate and some of them are the same ones I used to get as a child. Thank you for all the great family memories and chocolate goodness for so long - keep them coming!
July 08 · Kelly LakeWas in the area due to work and came across this quaint little candy place. The staff was very helpful and kind as I navigated the many different options they have. The chocolate covered pretzels were terrific, as was the variety of loose chocolate. The store is laid out conveniently and was very well maintained. Parking is plentiful on their lot.
